St Martins Church, Salisbury
Heritage Open Day: Historic Church and Tower open. Explore bell-ringing and have a go! St Martin's is the Parish Church of Sarum St Martin. It predates it's famous neighbour, Salisbury Cathedral by more than a century, but is relatively unknown. An opportunity to wander round this beautiful building at your leisure and learn something of it's past.
The Tower has 8 bells cast between 1582 and 1990, many in Salisbury. Find out about the exciting world of traditional English bellringing, how bells are rung, watch demos and even have-a-go under the supervision an experienced teacher!
Enjoy music played on recorder and our magnificent Hills 1869 two-manual organ.
Light refreshments available for a donation.
