If you have always wanted to join a choir locally, you can!
The Barnsley Rock Choir is led by singer/pianist Kate Threlfall. The choir will be performing locally again soon so it's a chance for you to join in, sing and perform without pressure and under the supportive guidance of Kate. Rock Choir members have performed and sung across the country at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, on top of the BT tower and many more iconic landmarks. The choir also has a charitable function in raising money and awareness for Missing People and Refuge.
Joining a choir can be a brave step to take for some and in light of this Kate tries to make it as easy as possible for you by giving the opportunity to have a FREE taster session and then to have a chat with her about singing. Rock Choir is the leading group in community singing. We launched our FREE choir taster sessions back in 2005 and have 20 years experience giving members of the public who are new to community singing the chance to try joining a choir without the need to audition or read music.
Here is a quote about our choir - 'I looked for years for somewhere to sing with others, but never found a group that sang a wide range of songs that you looked forward to singing with a smile on your face and a swing in the hips. Rock Choir arrived and filled that void, I'm still smiling.' - Isabel (Rock Choir Member)
Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon 'Big Heart' Award. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.
