A housebuilder in Tamworth has announced the inception of a new running club to encourage more people in the area to get active.
The weekly club, launching this June in line with Global Running Day, aims to encourage healthy lifestyles, strengthen friendships and provide a supportive space for runners – whether they’re seasoned athletes or complete beginners.
It is hoped the club will become a staple of the Tamworth community calendar, helping people stay active and motivated all year round.
The first run will kick off on Saturday 7 June at 10am at the sales centre at Redrow’s Amington Garden Village, on Boundary Drive, where participants can prepare to embark on a scenic six-kilometre route. The group will be led by an experienced coach, with warm-up and cool-down sessions included to promote safe exercise.
To join, interested residents can simply show up on the day. Refreshments including sports drinks, water and protein flapjacks will be on offer at the launch.
Elaine Cartwright, Sales Director for Redrow Midlands, said: “Running is so powerful – not just for physical health, but also for mental wellbeing and community spirit. We wanted to bring some of that energy to Tamworth and offer an activity that’s free, inclusive and fun.
“Whether you're looking to train for your next big race or just want a reason to get outside and meet new people, the new club is ready to help you hit the ground running.”
Amington Fairway and Eagle Gate at Amington are part of the popular Amington Garden Village development, which offers a choice of two, three and four-bedroom properties. These sought-after homes are part of Redrow’s award-winning Heritage Collection and are located just three miles from Tamworth town centre. The development provides a rural setting with excellent commuter links, including easy reach of the A5, M42 and M6 Toll.
