Lincoln is fortunate to have so much green space, in this illustrated talk, Andrew Walker will explore the history of three of the City's historic parks, examining how and why they were developed and will consider their changing use over time. Along the way mention will be made of a painted lion, Greek Gods, colourful processions, mass gatherings, brass bands, balloons, fireworks, sugarbeet and fifty fearsome fairies !
