If you have always wanted to join a choir locally, you can!
Your local Shrewsbury choir is run by Shropshire based musician Rowan Richards. The choir will be performing locally again soon so it's a chance for you to join in, sing and perform without pressure and under the supportive guidance of Rowan. Rock Choir members have performed and sung across the country at venues including Wembley Stadium for the record breaking Saracens versus Harlequins rugby league game in 2012, Guilfest and many more iconic landmarks. The choir also has a charitable function in raising money and awareness for Missing People and Refuge.
Whether you only sing in the shower or along to your car radio, or whether you see yourself belting out a showstopper at Wembley Arena (which we did! - for the ITV1 documentary 'The Choir that Rocks'), there's a place for you in the Shrewsbury Rock Choir. With no singing audition or need to read music, anyone can come along to a FREE taster session and see what all the fuss is about!
Here is a quote about our choir - 'Singing gives a terrific high and is certainly an aid to fighting depression. I look forward to each week with excitement. I just want to spread the word, join Rock Choir if there is one near you. ' - Seana (Rock Choir Member)
Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon 'Big Heart' Award. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.
