The Langstone Sessions: A Smorgasbord of Folk Music - Simon Cattermole

The second installment of The Langstone Sessions, Simon is a talented local singer-songwriter with deep roots in the folk tradition. His music is steeped in the history and landscape of our beautiful Langstone Harbour area, bringing local stories and places vividly to life through song.

Alongside his own work, Simon breathes new life into traditional folk songs – some passed down through generations in Hampshire, others gathered from across the British Isles. Never one to stand still, he also re-imagines more contemporary pieces, sometimes setting well-known lyrics to his own fresh and original tunes.

Described as “a smorgasbord of folk with a dash of humour”, Simon’s performances are warm, witty, and full of character. He’s hugely excited to share his music in the wonderful setting of St Nicholas Chapel.

No doubt the evening will end with an audience sing-a-long!
