Heritage Open Day: Tour one of Oxford's hidden architectural gems, and see how art and architecture are used to inspire and provide a sanctuary in the city. The Oxford Oratory is the principal Catholic church in the city of Oxford. Built in 1875 to a French neo-gothic design it provides a quiet sanctuary and a place of traditional Catholic worship. During the weekend there are self-guided and led tours focusing on how the architecture of this church contributes to a feeling of peace and inspiration and how Catholics use art in their worship.
Self-guided tour programmes are available for all visitors with guided tours with one of the Fathers at intervals throughout the weekend.
