Heritage Open Day: Visit the garden of Oxford Preservation Trust's offices at 10 Turn Again Lane. OPT is based in a row of historic cottages on Turn Again Lane, formerly Charles Street. As the suburb of St Ebbes was demolished, a public inquiry resulted in the cottages being saved and later coming into OPT's ownership. In 1972, we moved our offices here.
At the bottom of the garden, the wall runs along the original line of the medieval town wall and contains some of the original stones. The garden was transformed into the green oasis in 1975 by well-known landscape designer Brenda Colvin of Colvin & Moggridge. The garden won a bronze medal at Oxford in Bloom 2004. Come and chat with our current gardener about her work.
