Redbourne Church Architecture & Redbourne People

Heritage Open Day: Come to see this beautiful, peaceful Grade 1 listed church. There will be chances to see how it has developed from the 14th century to the present day and to learn a little about some of the people who had a hand in the changes. Redbourne's Grade 1 church dates back to the 14th century and is well worth a visit. The church was restyled in the 18th Century with a tall slender tower replacing the medieval spire. The tower was built as an 'eye catcher' to be viewed from Redbourne Hall. The Georgian East window is spectacular and very unusual - also worth a visit in itself! Redbourne's WW1 war memorial is located within the church. The churchyard is important for heritage and nature and has recently gained a Green Flag Community Award. There will be interpretative displays about the church and information available from friendly local volunteers. Great home made cakes, teas and coffees.
