Heritage Open Day: Celebrate Cromer Pier’s heritage with live music from the Cromer & Sheringham Brass Band (1–3pm) and a special short documentary in the Pavilion Theatre (10am–3pm), created for Heritage Open Days and narrated by Norfolk’s own Olly Day. Cromer Pier is a stunning 151-metre-long Victorian landmark. While a pier or jetty has existed in Cromer since as early as 1391, the structure we see today officially opened in June 1901, complete with a bandstand at its head. This was later expanded into a pavilion in 1905. Fast forward to 2024, Cromer Pier earned the prestigious title of Pier of the Year from the National Piers Society.
To mark the pier’s historic beginnings, the Cromer & Sheringham Brass Band will be performing live on the pier from 1pm to 3pm.
