Green Moor Pump House

Heritage Open Day: A rare chance to see inside the pumphouse and descend the ladder to view the well! The Pump House will open 10.00am until 2.00pm on Sunday 14th September 2025 to mark Heritage Open Days. Volunteers, including Parish Councillors, will supervise visitors who can look inside the Pump House. If they are assessed as being able to do so, they will be able to descend the ladder and view the well. Hard hats will be provided and visitors will be supervised as they descend and ascend the ladder
A generator has recently been purchased and this will run temporary lighting to be installed for the day.

Green Moor Pump House was the main source of water for Green Moor until mains water reached the village in 1953. The structure is unusual as it was built from the bottom up.
