George Wolstenholm’s Kenwood mansion

Heritage Open Day: A short, guided walk organised by the Nether Edge Festival / History groups, around the grounds of the Kenwood Hall Hotel. We’ll visit rooms in George Wolstenholme’s 19th century house and learn about the building. This short, guided walk around the Kenwood Hall Hotel’s grounds, and Kenwood Hall, talks about George Wolstenholm, one of the shrewdest, most enterprising, hard-headed and successful of Sheffield’s manufacturers .He produced Pen and Pocket knives, Table, Butchers’, Bowie, Shoe and Farriers’ knives, Scissors, Razors, as well as his celebrated I*XL cutlery. Kenwood Hall was designed by William Flockton, built by local builder, Thomas Steade, and the grounds were laid out by Robert Marnock.
