Longhoughton Parish Heritage Exhibition
Heritage Open Day: We hope to celebrate the stories of St Peter and St Paul's Church and the lives of the people buried in the churchyard. Discover what we have learned during our survey of the churchyard to record the historic gravestones. Local volunteers have created an exhibition looking at the history of the building, churchyard, and the people of Longhoughton and Boulmer who have used it over the centuries. We have so far recorded 170 gravestones around the church and built up a database of old records to help our research. We are hoping to tie this to records of the gravestones, to make a resource of how they appear now, before more inscriptions are lost.
