The Anson Engine Museum Open Day

Heritage Open Day: A fascinating insight into Poynton's local history, with displays of live historic steam engines. The Anson Engine Museum is recognised as one of the Country’s leading specialist attractions. Run by passionate volunteers, the museum displays one of the largest collections of internal combustion engines in Europe. It also features working steam machinery, a local history collection, craft workshops and is a magnificent tribute to Poynton's fascinating past.

- Travel back in time to Poynton of circa 1900 and admire it from above with the large diorama replica.
- Learn about the town's vast coal mining history, the first house lit by electricity and meet the oldest surviving engine in the world.
