Heritage Open Day: Come along to St. Michael's church and try out bell ringing, and organ playing under supervision. Tower Tours will be available. There will be four drop in guided walks of Shotwick village throughout the day. St Michael’s is a Grade I listed building which dates back to the 12th century but was largely rebuilt in the 14th century. The oldest part is the carved Norman doorway while the tower was built around 1500. Notable features include the medieval arrow sharpening grooves in the porch and the 17th/18th century furnishings – the canopied churchwarden’s pew, the box pews and the three decker pulpit.
