Providence House and Watergate Street
Heritage Open Day: Explore Watergate Street and see Roman remains, Medieval undercrofts and buildings with an array of front elevations some of which have their origins in the 17th century including Providence House. The main street of the Roman fortress, later a busy trading street leading to the Port, now Watergate Street is a destination for visitors to Chester to enjoy its cafés and bars. The fabric of these premises is part of Chester’s architectural heritage.
