Morpeth Chantry Bagpipe Museum

Heritage Open Day: Visit the very first bagpipe museum in the UK, a major part of the county’s musical landscape. Morpeth Chantry Bagpipe Museum is a must for music lovers - alive with iconic regional instruments and live music. This year we hope you can join us for two special events celebrating Northumbrian heritage on Saturday 20th September.

Between 11:00 and 12:00 Morpeth Poets presents Building Bridges. Poets in role and dressed in costume explore the history of Morpeth and some of its well-known interesting people.

Between 14:00 and 16:30 the Northumbrian Pipers Society meet for some tuneful traditional melodies. Come along and listen to Northumberland's own musical instrument.
