Heritage Open Day: Liverpool in 1826 was a hotbed of Masonic unrest and led to some Lancashire Lodges ceding from the United Grand Lodge of England becoming The Grand Lodge of Wigan.
Hear the story and see the artefacts of one of those rebel Lodges. After many false starts over the past several years Warrington Museum of Freemasonry has been able to have on loan artefacts stored in our National Museum in London that were used by the last of the Wigan rebels 'The Lodge of Sincerity,' until they once again Joined the United Grand Lodge of England in 1913. There will be on display a Lodge room laid out to represent that Masonic Lodge as it was in the early twentieth century.
Guided tours of the museum and the Masonic rooms will be available.
An opportunity to speak with Freemasons both male and female about what do we do, and why do we do it.
