Green Open Spaces of Hillsborough

Heritage Open Day: Join us for a walking tour around the community gardens and open spaces of Hillsborough, Malin Bridge, Wisewood, and Wadsley, whilst looking at the history of the area. The day will mark the launch of a walking trail project linking the sites. The area has a number of community gardens where local residents are transforming empty land into green spaces for all. We will be taking a tour visiting all the sites involved in the Green Open Spaces Hillsborough (GOSH) project, whilst taking in numerous points of historical interest along the way. From the 1864 Great Flood, to the grand houses and social history we can still see today, we will be telling the stories of the streets on our route.
