Heritage Open Day: Join Chris Hall for a guided walk looking at the cemetery buildings and the memorials to a number of architects and builders who were invlved in the 19th century development of Scarborough Dean Road cemetery, which opened in 1857,was designed by J P Pritchett and Sons a practice which was one of the foremost specialists in the design of cemeteries at the time. It is also the burial place of several people such as architects, engineers and builders, who were influential in the development of 19th century Scarborough.
Chris will start the guided walk with a look the history and the architecture of the cemetery and its buildings. He will then guide us round some significant memorials to architects, engineers and builders.
