Alnwick Masonic Centre

Heritage Open Day: Come and see a Masonic meeting room with displays of historic records of Masters of local Lodges and presentations about the building, the first designed by F. R. Wilson. The Masonic Centre was built in the 1850's as a Sunday School for the adjacent church. It was taken over by the Masons and has hosted meetings since the 19th Century. The meeting room is not usually open to the public so this will be an opportunity to explore local history as this was the first building designed by Wilson, he went on to design others and refurbish many local churches.
The will be a presentation about the history of the building and some of the people who have been involved over the years. There will also be a presentation about some of the unique furnishings on the premises, as well as the opportunity to ask questions.
