Heritage Open Day: A Georgian Grade Two listed House, former Joiner’s shop and small-holding - now a 21st century home for an artist an photographer In 2022, after decades of only very basic upkeep and three years unoccupied, the current owners, Artist/Designer Alison Milner and Photographer Steve Speller, bought the house and started their renovation journey with the help of Salt Architects and Clark and Hay Builders.
The renovation combines respect for the building's past and restoration of historic features with the need to address modern living and the climate crisis. The build used innovative insulation products and heating via an air source heat pump - the result is a bright, warm, welcoming space full of character.
