Heritage Open Day: Lewes Priory School Memorial Chapel, (Mountfield Road, between Priory School and East Sussex College). The Chapel (1960) was designed by Sir Edward Maufe, architect of Guildford Cathedral. Open Sunday, 1.00pm-5pm Organ music and bell ringing. East Sussex College and Priory School) was completed in 1960 to the design of SirEdward Maufe, architect of Guildford Cathedral. It was built as a chapel for the Lewes County Grammar School for Boys (1930-1969) as an IWM Registered war memorial to 55 former students killed during World War II.
