Priory School, Mountfield Road, Lewes BN7 2XN Heritage Open Day: Lewes Priory School Memorial Chapel, (Mountfield Road, between Priory School and East Sussex College). The Chapel (1960) was designed by Sir Edward Maufe, architect of Guildford Cathedral. Open Sunday, 1.00pm-5pm Organ music and bell ringing. Parking Lewes Priory School Memorial Chapel (in Mountfield Road, on the south side between East Sussex College and Priory School) was completed in 1960 to the design of SirEdward Maufe, architect of Guildford Cathedral. It was built as a chapel for the Lewes County Grammar School for Boys (1930-1969) as an IWM Registered war memorial to 55 former students killed during World War II.
