Farfield Mill will be open as part of the National Heritage Open Day weekends. Come along to the Mill and find out about the textile heritage of the Yorkshire Dales and Sedbergh. Discover the stories of some of the people who worked at the Mill.
Take a digital tour around the building, discovering clues to the history of the building and what happening on the different floors. Find the burnt lintel, evidence of the big fire of 1909, wonder what made the strange marks on the oil-soaked wood floors as well as other architectural features such as the iron pillars from a foundry in Kendal.
See weaving looms and Gilkes turbine (not working) on level 1, heritage display on level 2 and handweaving looms on Level 4.
