Stone Heritage Centre Railway Exhibition

Heritage Open Day: Visit Stone Town Council’s Heritage Centre for a specially curated exhibition exploring the history of Stone Station. Stone Town Council's Heritage Centre will be showcasing a specially curated exhibition, celebrating Railway 200, on Saturday 13th September. The exhibition will explore the story of the history and development of Stone Station, which will consist of artwork dedicated to the depictions of the railway buildings in Stone (past and present) along with railway related items.
Stone Heritage Centre is located at Joules Fire Station on Newcastle Street. To commemorate the dedication of the fire officers who performed an essential service in the town, there will also be a rare opportunity at this event to view the scale model of the horse drawn steamer engine Edith Mabel, a machine closely associated with the history of Stone.
The Heritage Centre warmly welcomes guests to attend the exhibition between 11:00am and 4:00pm.
