Exhibition: Architectural Inspirations from The Quilt Collection

Heritage Open Day: Architectural Inspirations explores a selection of quilts and textile art from The Quilt Collection, that feature design elements and inspirations from architecture across Britain. The Architectural Inspirations exhibition explores a range of historic and contemporary pieces from The Quilt Collection that use architecture, buildings, or their materials as the main source or feature for their design inspiration. From the traditional patchwork House Block, to design elements and shapes found in stained glass windows or carvings from ecclesiastical stonework, these quilts show how artists have been influenced by the beauty of the architectural landscape around them.
