Heritage Open Day: Built in the Norman style, Christ Church is one of many buildings worldwide constructed from Runcorn red sandstone. Discover what we know about the local quarries and how the building has been maintained and cared for over it's 175 years. Several architects have been involved in developing and improving the church along with notable parishioners. Enjoy the interior Arts and Crafts features which led to the Grade 2 listing of the church in 1985. Find out how very serious and unexpected problems in 1982 eventually led to a positive outcome. Explore the architecture and biodiversity of our churchyard and what it means to be an Eco Church.
