Dickson, Archer, Thorp Memories

Heritage Open Day: Listen to memories of the solicitor's practice that once ran from Narrowgate House. Narrowgate House is a well-known landmark in Alnwick. For more than 150 years, it was the main business premises of Dickson, Archer and Thorp, solicitors. The practice was in existence from at least 1807 and was one of the most important in the county undertaking business for the Duke of Northumberland, gentry and more modest clients.

Northumberland Archives has recorded the memories of people with connections to the practice. Recordings will be preserved, ensuring that they will be available for future generations to consult. Extracts from the interviews can be heard in an exhibition at Narrowgate House as part of Alnwick Heritage Open Day events on Sept 20th.
