Heritage Open Day: Grade II listed Masonic Hall that embodies a rich tapestry of history, community, and tradition. Originally constructed in the mid-19th century as a Baptist chapel with seating for 325, this tucked away building features distinctive black panels designed to resemble windows. Over time, two wings were added, enhancing its architectural character. In 1972, recognising its historical significance, the building was designated as a Grade II listed structure.
Transitioning from a place of worship to a centre for Freemasonry in 1953, the hall became a hub for local Masonic activities and houses St. Winnold Lodge No. 3955 and Admiral Lord Nelson Lodge No. 9782, as well as St. Winnold Chapter No. 3955 and others.
