St John the Baptist Church, Hillmorton

Heritage Open Day: Discover a beautiful 13th century church offering tranquil space between the Oxford Canal, the Western main line and the old Rugby Radio station. Our church is open daily, welcoming visitors to enjoy a quiet space with many artefacts dating back to the 13th century, including two tabletop effigies. It has strong links to the Perkins family, who were early emigrants to America. St John's continues to be an important focus in the community and now has a second community, St Gabriel's, on a new housing estate. St John's is known as the Church by the Canal as it is next to the Oxford Canal. It is also next to the mainline west coast trainline and the old Rugby radio station in a quiet area with a pretty natural churchyard.
