Heritage Open Day: A chance to have a Behind the Scenes tour of the Bawtry Phoenix Theatre once a Methodist Chapel The Bawtry Phoenix Theatre is housed in a Methodist Chapel dating from 1862. Since the early 80s the building has had a fascinating development, stage by stage, to house the Bawtry Amateur Theatre Society which was formed in Bawtry Hall in 1932.
The chapel was built as a Primitive Methodist Chapel and was used until the 1930s. The main worship space of the chapel became the theatre's auditorium. Part of the front of the original building was lost in the 1960s when the road was widened.
There will be a chance to see?
