The Phoenix Theatre, Station Road, Bawtry, Doncaster DN10 6PT Heritage Open Day: A chance to have a Behind the Scenes tour of the Bawtry Phoenix Theatre once a Methodist Chapel The Bawtry Phoenix Theatre is housed in a Methodist Chapel dating from 1862. Since the early 80s the building has had a fascinating development, stage by stage, to house the Bawtry Amateur Theatre Society which was formed in Bawtry Hall in 1932. The chapel was built as a Primitive Methodist Chapel and was used until the 1930s. The main worship space of the chapel became the theatre's auditorium.
