Heritage Open Day: A 16th century dovecote with 1100+ nesting boxes, built to provide fresh meat and eggs for Sir Francis Willoughby and his household. Displays include a Tudor room and information about the sale of the Wollaton Estate 100 years ago. Step over the threshold of this unique building and you step back into Tudor history. Built around 1565 for Sir Francis Willoughby of Wollaton Hall, the Wollaton Village Dovecote was restored in 1987.
