Heritage Open Day: New Venue. Stirchley Institute was built in 1892 as a Friends Meeting House and community resource for Stirchley. It has had many uses over the years, being Stirchley Community Church since 1974. See local history exhibitions & a 2nd hand book sale. Explore the building now known as Stirchley Community Church. It has been at the centre of Stirchley since being built by Richard & George Cadbury in 1892 as a Friends Meeting House & community resource for the people of Stirchley. To many local people it is better known as Stirchley Institute where young people met and formed relationships which often led to marriage.
From 1913 – 1919 it was used by Birmingham City Council as a Day Continuation College for Cadbury employees.
