Misa-Tango (presented by The Sitwell Singers)
At the end of this season we (The Sitwell Singers) are going on tour to Salamanca, and so our whole season is inspired by the great composers of Spain and Latin America.
The exciting highlight of this evening's concert is 'Misa a Buenos Aires' (also known as Misatango) by Argentinian tango composer Martín Palmeri.
It blends the Latin words of the Mass, with the top-tapping harmonies, rhythms, melodies and characteristics of tango.
The concert also includes earlier (but equally jazzy) Latin American music by 'the three Juans' - Juan Garcia de Salazar, Juan de Araujo and Juan Gutierrez de Padilla - pop-stars of the Renaissance. A feast of energetic and rhythmic music guaranteed to leave you wit a spring in your step.
