Brilliant Beethoven - by The Sitwell Singers
We finish our season with Ludwig van Beethoven's powerful and moving, Missa Solemnis.
Beethoven is one of the best known, and most revered, composers of classical music. We would like to show you why!
In the first half of tonight's concert, we will sing Beethoven's setting of Goethe's Calm Sea and Properous Voyage, which tells the story of sailors' trepidation at the still waters around them, but their ultimately successful journey.
This is the final concert of our 59th season, after which we are going on tour to Salamanca. We hope our trip to Spain will be plain sailing!
