What happens when an artist moves into a castle for a month?
This November, visitors to Belvoir Castle will find out as London-based contemporary artist Nick Jensen unveils a new body of work created during his month-long residency inside the Castle’s historic walls.
His exhibition transforms Belvoir’s grand interiors into an extraordinary dialogue between modern abstraction and a thousand years of history. Known for his intuitive use of distemper and oil, Jensen’s paintings capture fleeting moments of play, intimacy, and reflection — offering visitors a fresh way to experience one of England’s most beautiful stately homes.
Part of the Artist-in-Residence Programme by HeritageXplore and The Dot Project, the event revives the centuries-old tradition of artistic patronage in Britain’s great houses.
