Surface is delighted to announce the exhibition for our fifteenth East Midlands Graduate Project, EM25: Intervals.
Intervals is comprised of an array of work from a variety of disciplines, including painting, installation, textiles, and metalwork. From the blood-soaked sheets found in the installations of Amber Clarke to the illusive metalwork of Abigail Hurst and the fragile lacework of Lucy Vardy’s exploration of Nottingham’s history, Intervals has something for everyone. Experience the unique reflections on memory and history, nostalgia and video games, and local culture that these artists have to offer.
The East Midlands Graduate Project supports Fine Art graduates across the region as they make the transition from university to the professional art world. Intervals is the culmination of a four-week residency undertaken in the gallery's top-floor Project Space. Eight of the region’s most exciting new graduate artists have been commissioned to produce original work for the exhibition. Each of the artists have built on their successes at university and developed their practice and creativity to produce pieces to attract and engage the viewer.
Artist Talk and Tour: Saturday 8th November, 2pm
