What You’ll Learn
Our NNAS Bronze Navigator syllabus covers all the core navigation fundamentals, including:
Understanding OS & Harvey maps and their key features
Setting the map to the ground by eye and compass
Identifying landmarks, grid references, contours and symbols
Measuring distance using pacing and timing
Planning safe and efficient walking routes
Taking and following basic compass bearings
Navigation strategies for different terrain and weather conditions
Hazard awareness and emergency procedures
Personal and group safety in outdoor environments
