A local care home is embracing the yuletide season by opening its doors for a special reminiscence event.
Care UK’s Long Stone Manor, in Wilmslow, is inviting people to revisit traditions from Christmas past by joining residents and team members for its festive event.
The event is part of Care UK’s “Step into Christmas” initiative, which aims to rekindle Christmas customs that residents remember from their childhood by reliving them and sharing them with the local community.
On Thursday 4th December, from 2pm-3.30pm, Long Stone Manor is inviting the community for an evening of carol singing. Guests can join residents in singing traditional Christmas songs and will be treated to a host of classic seasonal foods, including mulled wine, traditional mince pies and hog roast pork baps.
To end the evening, the care home team will be switching on the Christmas lights, signalling the start of the holiday season at the home.
