Calling all Jane Austen fans! A daily dose of Austen in your inbox.
This year marks Jane Austen’s 250th anniversary – she was born in 1775 and went on to become one of the most loved novelists writing in English literature. Creation Theatre are celebrating with a suitably quirky adaptation of her epistolary novel, Lady Susan, which you can access from anywhere in the world.
Austen’s Lady Susan takes the form of 41 letters, written by the novel’s fabulous characters, over a period of weeks. Lady Susan herself is one of Austen’s most memorable characters – scheming, flirtatious, self-serving and yet, decidedly charming. Newly widowed, she’s intent on finding herself a wealthy new husband and marrying off her sixteen year old daughter as advantageously as possible. As rumours of her reputation spread, can she convince everyone that it is all slander and she’s just misunderstood?
Creation Theatre’s innovative adaptation of Jane Austen’s witty and mischievous novel transforms Lady Susan’s 41 letters into 41 beautifully crafted short films, brought to life by a brilliant cast. You’ll receive one film a day—an unfolding story told through letters brimming with intrigue, charm, and delicious scandal.
Looking for a unique gift? You can gift the experience to a friend or loved one—simply book a ticket and then let us know where to send the films.
