Hayton Village Gardens - Open Garden for NGS

Easily accessible, delightful village with a village green growing one of the oldest walnut trees in the country. Remnants of damson orchards grown for the dyeing industry. Close to Hadrians Wall. A picturesque valley of 9 quality gardens of very varied sizes and styles, mostly around old stone cottages. Smaller and larger cottage gardens, courtyards and containers, woodland walks, exuberant borders, frogs, pools, colour and texture throughout. Spring bulbs, azaleas and wisteria precede roses, clematis and perennials. Artworks at a number of gardens from sculpture, paintings, metalwork or constructions of garden finds: some for sale. Cash preferred. Pleases note furthest gardens at Townhead require a half mile walk (and back) with no pavement, or extra driving.
