Grange over Sands Hidden Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Four very different gardens hidden down narrow lanes off the road south out of Grange. Off Kents Bank Road, the 3 gardens on Cart Lane all back onto the railway embankment, providing shelter from the wind but also creating a frost pocket. The garden at 21 Cart Lane is a series of rooms designed to create an element of surprise with fruit and vegetables in raised beds. Elder Cottage is an organised riot of fruit trees, vegetables, shrubby perennials and herbaceous plants. Productive and peaceful. Hawthorne Cottage has been redesigned and replanted over the last 2 yrs to create a garden with colour and interest. Up the hill on Carter Rd, Shrublands is a ¾ acre garden situated on a hillside overlooking Morecambe Bay.
