East Haddon Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
The pretty village of East Haddon dates back to the Norman invasion. The oldest surviving building is St Mary's, a C12 church. The village features many thatched cottages built from the local honey-coloured ironstone. A thatched village pump and former fire station, once housing a hand drawn pump, now serving as the bus shelter. The nine gardens opening this year are a mixture of small to medium sized mature gardens, some offering beautiful views across rolling hills. They are bursting with rare and unusual plants, a variety of shrubs, climbers, roses, and perennials, along with borders, vegetable beds, espaliered fruit trees, and woodland areas. Tickets and refreshments will be available at the church.
