Harewood, Disley - Open Garden for NGS

The extensive gardens at Harewood in Disley surround the restored 1870s house and are a plant lover's paradise, with many rare gems. Set amidst the rolling Cheshire and Derbyshire countryside, the gardens look out over Lyme Park and Disley Dam. The gardens are set out in terraces and include an enclosed secret courtyard, a large water lily pond, a well-stocked glasshouse, beautiful deep mixed borders and a woodland dell leading to an apiary. Whilst the garden is relatively young, it borrows a grounding of maturity from the many trees which define its boundaries. Harewood is a year-round garden but the month of September particularly highlights the diversity of colours in the herbaceous borders and the changing hues of the turning season.
