Ipswich Group, Suffolk Family History Society presents:
A Fire Engine, Church Tower & the BBC Repair Shop, told by Geoffrey Robinson.
The talk begins with a brief look at how Fire Fighting and Fire Engines developed after the Great Fire of London, then chronicles the use of the 1760 Worlingworth Parish's Fire Engine up to the present.
Geoffrey offered to the Custodians of the fire engine, (the Parish Council) to have the contraption restored to working order. Plan accepted, Geoffrey drove the project forward with BBC help—with amazing and sometime amusing results.
