Sheffield Skeptics in the Pub

Sheffield Skeptics in the Pub was founded in December 2009 and is a good way for people from all walks of life to hear from experts and discuss with them important issues that affect us all, while enjoying their favourite beverage. Meetings are held every third Monday of the month at Farm Road Sports & Social Club, Farm Road, Sheffield S2 2TP from 7.30 pm. There is no need to book and no entrance fee, but a voluntary donation of £3 is welcome to cover speaker's expenses and room hire. Parking is free if you type in your registration number on the tablet at the bar.

The February 2026 event is hosted by Sheffield Humanists. The speaker, Terri O’Sullivan, will present a talk titled ‘Helping People Leaving High-Control Religion’. She will describe about the varying forms of abuse that an ex-religious person may have experienced while in their former religious community, and what they may have experienced as a result of leaving it.

Terri is the Apostate Services Development Coordinator for the Faith to Faithless service at Humanists UK, which supports people who have left high-control religious groups.
