Morpeth funeral home launches new support group

A funeral home in Morpeth is inviting the local community to its free bereavement support group.

Co-op Funeralcare Morpeth has launched the coffee and catch-up drop-in sessions to support anyone experiencing grief or bereavement.

The first session will be taking place on Wednesday 13th May from 10.30am-12pm, at the Manchester Street branch.

The group, which is run by Funeral Director Paula Blackburn, has been set up to provide an informal and supportive environment where people can chat freely and meet others over tea and coffee, without the pressure of a structured session.

Paula said: “Everyone experiences grief differently, but it can help to know that you’re not alone. We wanted to create a warm and welcoming space where people can come together, share experiences and feel supported.

“This drop-in group is informal and open to anyone who feels they might benefit, whether that’s through conversation or simply spending some quiet time with others. There’s no pressure to speak or share; sometimes simply being in a room with others who understand can make all the difference.

“I encourage anyone in the local community dealing with the loss of a loved one to pop in and get in touch. We're here for you.”

No booking is required, and anyone is welcome to drop in during the session between 10.30am-12pm.
