Free food festival arriving at Meadowhall in June

Meadowhall has announced it will host Eid Street next month, following on from last year’s Eid on Tour event, bringing a family-friendly celebration of culture, community and food to the centre.

Taking place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June, the two-day event will be held outside Meadowhall’s Oasis Dining Quarter, with a lively line-up of street food, entertainment and an artisan market.

This year’s Eid Street will shine a spotlight different cultural expressions of Eid, with live musical performances across the two days including Middle Eastern Zaffa and Dabka, alongside an African drummer and more.

Visitors will be able to sample street food from a selection of traders, including Fargos FX serving Japanese steak sandos, Super Birria Bros with birria tacos and Cattle & Smoke with Texas-inspired smoked brisket. The line-up also includes Dutch Fishmen, Myos Japanese, The Brioche Team and Mocktail Girl.

Alongside the street food, the event will include an artisan market featuring jewellery, fragrances, arts, crafts and snacks, with stalls including Forest Out, Muskee, Lish LDN, Sweetpals and Kismet Fragrances.

Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, said: Eid Street is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Eid and bring our community together. We're excited to welcome visitors who want to enjoy brilliant food, entertainment and the artisan market over the two days.

Bilal Khan, event director at Eid Street, said: “We’re excited to return to Meadowhall with Eid Street this June. It’s a great setting for a big, family-friendly celebration, and we know the mix of street food, market stalls and live performances will create a brilliant atmosphere outside. We can’t wait to welcome visitors down to enjoy it with us.”

Eid Street will run from 11am to 8pm on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th June. The event is supported by Eid on Tour and The Halal Food Festival, and free tickets can be booked in advance online.
